Talladega Al – In his first race back in the Cup series in almost a year, Cody Ware took no time to find his groove. After starting 38th and spending the first two stages safely with his teammates, Cody in the Thriv5, Jacob Construction Chevrolet made his move. The third and final stage found Cody swiftly moving through the field up to the 6th position which he held for a majority of the final stage. A late race crash would set up for an exciting finish. After lining up on the third row a bunched up field caused head ache for many of the front runners. With one lap to go Cody was still solidly in the top 10 when coming down the back stretch another driver touched and sent him spinning into the wall. Cody recovered to bring the car back across the start finish line in 19th. “unfortunatly the final result doesn’t show how good we were today, stated Cody Ware, ” Mike Hilman and the RWR 27 team did an amazing job giving me a very fast Thriv5 Camaro.” Cody went on to say, “This gives us some great momentum to build on and I am happy that we were able to get our partners a great deal of airtime on sunday.” Ware’s Camaro ZL1 was a little worse for wear, but the team was visibly excited for the great run they had. Crew Chief Micheal Hilman Sr. stated, “we are so proud of Cody and how well he managed the race today, Cody hasnt been in the cup car this year, but you wouldnt know it by his performance, I see a lot more good runs coming.”
